A new year is always a great chance to redecorate. If you’ve been thinking about improving your home, then maybe 2025 is your year for a fresh start. We know it can be a struggle to work out what colours to use and what furniture would look good in your home. This is especially true if you have a busy life; most of our clients are busy people and they just don’t have the time to figure out what to do; as it can be quite overwhelming to do on your own. That’s where this blog could be handy for you - at Revival By Design we have pulled together 25 interior design trends for 2025, to give you some inspiration. These are the trends for 2025 from across the spectrum of Interior Design - some may interest you and work with your home and style, some may not - hopefully though, this blog will help you create the home you've always dreamed of.
Earthy Neutrals
Say goodbye to plain white walls and introduce some colours like sage and terracotta! This is one of the best 2025 interior design trends for those who want to get over their fear of colour but aren’t ready for bold shades! We never design with white walls and always try to introduce colour into our schemes, but for some people colour can be scary - earthy neutrals are a good way to add colour without it being too overwhelming.
Minimalism
Minimalism has been a trend for a while, not really our style but we can appreciate it in the right setting and if done well - if you want to bring this into 2025 then including a Japandi interior design style can make your home feel cosy, warm and inviting!
Textured Walls and Ceilings
Flat walls and ceilings can be quite boring. By adding some interesting texture such as wood panelling or by adding wallpaper to your ceilings, this can transform your room completely. We love wallpaper and always try to include it in our schemes.
Modern Tech
In this day and age you can’t have a home without modern technology. Hidden TVs can be a great way to decorate your room the way you want, without the TV being the focal point - hidden inside cabinetry, or a Samsung Frame TV in art mode are both great options here. Motorised curtains are another fabulous tech upgrade that will transform your home - whilst something of an investment, they really are a game changer, particularly when teamed with a home automation system that opens and closes them without you having you to do anything.
Sustainability
Most people want to be eco friendly now wherever possible and a major interior design trend for 2025 is sustainability. Many of our fabric suppliers are taking sustainability very seriously and are actively introducing recycled materials into their fabric ranges. This is getting more and more prevalent and we are really pleased to see it.
Vintage Touches
Vintage and retro influences are making a comeback for interior trends 2025 and we couldn't be happier about it! We love designing schemes with antiques mixed in with new pieces - in the right setting this can create a warm, homely and curated look and feel, avoiding the risk of your home looking like a high street showroom.
Maximalism
The opposite to minimalism, maximalism embraces abundance. Our design style is generally in the middle of the two, what is know as midimalism, but we definitely lean more towards maximalism. By including layered pattern, in a variety of fabrics and textures, and in a multitude of colours, as well as trims, borders and fringes, you can create a home rich in things you love!
Bold and Black
Statement colours are a fantastic way to add some contrast to a dull room. For interior trends 2025 bold black accent walls are a modern way to add some interesting decor! Check out our Pool House project for an example of this.
Metallics
Do you love sophisticated design? Then include metallic accents where you can! Think gold and copper tones. These can be the perfect luxurious finishing touch to any space.
Colour Drenching
Gone are the days of white rooms with zero personality. 2025 is all about colourful interiors and colour drenching - that can be one colour all around, or what is called "Double Drenching", where two bold colours of a similar hue are used together in one room.
Jewel Tones
Add some depth to your space with some jewel tones. Rich colours like emerald and sapphire can make any room look vibrant and add a luxury feel.
Lighting fixtures
For 2025 interior design trends, don’t think of lighting to just be something you need so you can see. You can add some personality to your space by adding some unique lighting fixtures, for example sculptural lamps and wall lights, all great ways to add mood and functionality.
Stone Accents
Natural stone accents such as marble or slate can add interest to a room, perhaps by incorporating them into your countertops or flooring.
Pattern Mixing
One of the latest interior design trends is mixing patterns. By keeping the same colour scheme, combining stripes and geometric shapes can add visual appeal without being overwhelming.
Handcrafted Pieces
Handcrafted items are becoming more and more popular and people are really starting to appreciate them again. This doesn’t just add a personal look to your house but can also have added benefits, such as supporting local craftspeople and being far more sustainable.
Statement Furniture
Furniture doesn’t always have to be purely practical. Colourful sofas and interesting or quirky lamps can make your room feel unique and make your home feel more personable to you - it is after all, your home! This is definitely one of the best interior design trends for 2025 if you want a vibrant and bespoke look and feel to your home.
Wellness Spaces
With there now being far more of an emphasis on mental health and wellbeing, this will trickle into 2025 interior design trends with features like spa bathrooms, dedicated yoga spaces, and a dedicated place to relax and unwind. Somewhere to sit without a TV, maybe to take in a view or read a book.
Outdoor Living
In the last few years since covid, everyone has appreciated an outdoor lounge and/or dining space more and more. That is set to continue into 2025 and beyond.
An outdoor lounge that incorporates all the elements of an indoor lounge is a fabulous addition to any home - think comfy sofas, area rug, lamps and side tables (all of which have outdoor versions now). Of course, surrounding it all with greenery is a must.
Wood Drenching
Wood drenching is a fabulous way to add some uniqueness to any room. It's exactly as it sounds, wrapping the room in wood, including the floor, the walls and even the ceiling, and then filling the room with rich wooden furniture. Another nod to sustainability in design trends for 2025.
Irregular rugs
Rugs can tie any room together and are a must have item in the majority of our design schemes. Including a rug that has an interesting design or shaped edges can be eye catching and create a playful feel!
70's Inspired
The 70's are making a comeback for interior trends in 2025! We aren't talking about shag carpets and woodchip (thankfully) - instead think neutral colours, curved sofas, bold art and textures everywhere.
Partitions and Room Dividers
If you’ve got a spacious room and want a way to divide a section off from the rest of the space, partitions and room dividers are a great option. This is a fun way to set one area apart from the rest and create some privacy, all while still maintaining the open feel of the room.
Statement Ceilings
You shouldn’t overlook ceilings. We love a wallpapered ceiling and have designed many schemes where we have taken the wallpaper up the walls and over the ceiling - be bold!
Oxblood
Oxblood is a rich colour that’s going to be one of the 2025 interior design trends. It’s a colour you should try if you love a dark, dramatic room.
Wavy lines
Not everything has to be straight! Adding interesting silhouettes through wavy and curved lines, whether that’s with mirrors, lamps or vases, can add some real interest and depth to your room.
